“Exactly what you want from a hotel”

This hotel was perfect for our family of three to spend a few days visiting other family in the Ephrata area. We stayed in room 426 (King bed Suite w/Sofa bed and city view) which was perfect. The hotel was quiet and well appointed. A rarity for hotels these days... we had plenty of hot water and pressure in the shower! The only thing to keep in mind is the indoor pool was quite cold while we were there. Our son braved it as he was so excited for a pool but it proved too chilly for the adults. The hotel's location is set back from Main street a bit and stayed nice and quiet at night. We also had a decent sized mini-fridge and microwave in our room. All in all i'm not sure what more you'd want from a hotel. Clean, quiet and comfortable. We'll be back!

“Exceptional Hampton Inn & Suites”

Now THIS is how every Hampton Inn & Suites should be! After traveling up and down the East Coast, and out to the Midwest, during a recent stretch of about 10 years, we noticed that most HI&S were "scaling back" and redecorating their rooms in what I call "The Jetsons' Bedroom" -- cold, austere, impractical and uninviting. And while this HI&S has upgraded to the newer, more modern, furniture, they didn't take out the comfort and practicality of a superior hotel room. For example, they did not remove a "courtesy" grab bar in the bath/shower, even though it was not a handicapped-equipped room. They also did not remove a towel bar, as almost all the other HI&S we stayed at did (Is that so hard?!), as well as including several hooks in the bath area. They also had a large closet instead of a small armoire, as well as a tall mini fridge instead of a cube. Unfortunately for us, who have pet allergies, Hilton made the directive, after Covid, that all of their properties accept pets in all rooms. However, General Manager, Mike McCullough, did his best to accommodate us in a room on the top floor, furthest away from the elevator, which would probably not be requested by a traveler with pets, as well as supplying, at our request, extra flat sheets to cover the upholstered furniture in the room. There was no pet odor, nor fur, in the room we were booked and we had a comfortable stay in that regard as well. (Note to Hilton: It would be wise to follow the Choice Hotels model and offer pet-friendly and pet-free rooms in the future. We, with pet allergies, would feel welcomed once again, as we were in the past, when the majority of Hilton Hampton Inn products were pet-free and we could depend on that.) The room was clean and everything was in order when we arrived. Since they kept "the little things" that made Hampton Inn & Suites great in the past, THIS Hampton Inn & Suites, Ephrata -- Mountain Springs, is EXCEPTIONAL in our book!
