The regal palm resort is continently located in Rotorua with only a short drive to many attractions, restaurants and the lake. The room was spacious, clean, comfortable and had great facilities such as a kitchenette, spa bath, disabled room available on request. The resort offers mini golf, table tennis, a playground, a pool and free car parking making it great for families or those young at heart. The staff, especially Michelle, were friendly and very helpful. It was great value for money and perfect for our 4 night stay.

It isn't a resort! It's a really nice motel with some extra facilities like mini golf, pool etc. Reception staff were welcoming and friendly. You can park close to your room which is always good. It isn't a resort! It's a really nice motel with some extra facilities like mini golf, pool etc. Reception staff were welcoming and friendly. You can park close to your room which is always good. Our Superior room was very large with well equipped kitchenette, a seating area and table. Plenty big enough for breakfasts, preparing lunches and eating takeaway meals. The bed was very comfortable, bath towels large, bathroom very big with hydro bath and shower. It was very clean and well maintained. The small seating area is outside the door, so not ideal but we didn't spend much time in the room anyway. WiFi was free and worked fine. Overall, a great place to stay for a few days.

As other reviewers have mentioned this property is more like a motel than a resort but suited our needs for one night. Check-in and out was friendly and efficient so no complaints there. We booked a luxury studio and were given a room at the end of the corridor on the top floor. It was quiet as it was at the end and we didn’t hear any real traffic noise. The room appeared to have been recently renovated with a new kitchen and bathroom. The décor was strangely a Chinese theme which was a bit surprising. That said the bed was very comfortable and the kitchen has everything we needed. The bathroom has a large jacuzzi tub and a ‘wet room’ style open shower. We didn’t use the jacuzzi but the shower was spacious and had plenty of hot water. The common areas are a bit sparsely decorated and the pool was cold (albeit we had awful wet and windy weather so perhaps it would have been better on a hotter day). We just assumed it would have been thermally heated. The pool area is ok but perhaps a touch small and tired. For one night we felt this was a good choice. The price is on the higher side but we thought the value was ok for the studio given the size and décor.

This was billed as a five star resort when I booked it, but I fail to see where that rating comes from . It is more of a very upmarket motel. Our room was spacious and clean, and so was the bathroom with a jacuzzi, but for the rest the amenities were average. The notion of 5***** accommodation is associated with a superiour type of comfort as far as I am concerned.
