One of the best hotels we've stayed in. Firstly, let me say. This experience was only achievable through the absolute amazing staff in Domes Aulus. Every single one of people we have met have been truly geuine and warm. We arrived late into the night, and when we checked in we realised it wasn't the room we had originally booked, but it was too late to go back down to reception to deal with it. We spoke with Ioanne, one of the managers in the morning and she remedied the problem straight away. I can't describe how helpful she was, she done everything she could to make our holiday as good as it could have possibly been - just an all round fantastic human being. The setting of the hotel is stunning, the food even more so. Everything is so fresh and appealing. The "pour your own" beer stations dotted around the hotel are a personal favourite of mine...obviously. I could go on about how stunning and modern the rooms, restaurants etc are but all I can say is the photos on the website are exactly how the hotel looks. Like I said all of the staff are a credit, but a special shout out to Jason. The young gentleman who is unbelievably warm and kind and is an embodiment for the full hotel and team. We are so grateful to the staff for our experience at Domes Aulus Elounda. From check in to check out we had a unbelievable adventure we will always remember. For us this trip was purely about relaxing and winding down. However for the explorer this resort also provides so many wonderful opportunities in terms of local history, town culture and much more. Our experience was unforgettable and we look forward to returning for a longer stay. Below highlighted are some pros/cons Cons: - Waiting for a cart. Due to steepness of the area, will likely have to wait on golf cart/car to take you to Greco Levante. Rides come very often, however with the dinner rush, sometimes cars/carts are quite busy. This is difficult for any staff, give yourself a 20 minute buffer on your reservation for dinner and you'll be good. Drivers did a great job all week with the full capacity and were very friendly (& funny). -Lack of TV channels/apps: Could not access nor get on Netflix or similar entertainment apps, most channels were similar for stream cast. Phone not able to streamcast with TVs -Reservations: Luckily the concierge did an excellent job getting us onto our reservations. However alot of the resteraunts were already booked up so sometimes we had slim pickings. We did miss one reservation due to an error in the system. The concierge acted fast and got us into another resteraunt on our last night. Laundry: We put out some clothes to go to laundry. They were sent out on Monday before noon and we did not get them back til the day we left Thursday. I had to make sure front desk knew that we had to leave at 11AM to catch our flight, otherwise laundry would have come at 1PM. There is a 30% fee for same day service. Grab and Go: The grab and go at beach was great! However I wish they had a small grab and go up by reception too, rather than just drinks. Do know you can get a burger or similar at blue bar however you must sit down. Also did not see much in terms of snacks at Greco Levante during the day maybe I missed that. Pros -Concierge: Going above and beyond for guests. Whether it was a reservation, a question on things to do or general inquiries, concierge was able to handle alot of different small issues. This also lets front desk handle other things. I likes this set up. Grab and Go: Loved the grab and go at beach but like i said with they had one more up by reception. Blu bar burger was one of the best I have ever had! Id say the bar had better food than the resteraunts. The Blu bar is excellent for a pool side snack. Cool living: I personally thought that the breakfast at greco levante and the room views were well worth the features for cool living. Parking: Our rental car was easy to park by our room (618) Birthday/Celebrations: Staff sent a small cake for my partners bday with a card. An excellent touch. In all we are already talking about next years plans to return! Bottom line, go to concierge if you have a question or dont understand something.

We booked the sapphire suite and once we were showed our room, the private pool was smaller than photos advertised and undercover so no sun. After a chat with reception they agreed to move us to the top floor where the pool would not be under cover. We feel they should put photos on of all private pools and the price should be reflected for the smaller undercover pools. All staff are amazing, cocktails are great. However, food is a little disappointing. Al a carte was hard to book and sometimes we could only get a table at 9pm. Buffets did not have a lot of choice apart from breakfast in cool living section. This was our favourite. The price is worth paying for the views but expect to go out for a nice meal a couple of nights a week. The hill is hard yes but you can always get a lift.

The positives - We were in a sapphire nest room. The room itself was very nice , clean with an amazing view from our balcony and nice bathroom. Overall very happy with the room. The private beach for hotel guests is lovely, small pebbly beach with loungers and very relaxing also nice for a swim. However here are the negatives - The hotel amenities images listed on various websites including Expedia are very misleading and not accurate. Some of the images are not even real from the hotel. For example the gym pictured on Expedia is not the gym at the hotel and does not have the same equipment. The Spa facilities included one small hot tub and a cold indoor pool. When I went to use the sauna I was told this was charged extra per person and single use . Eg sauna 30 euros for 30 minutes . Even though this is not listed on the spa menu . Not really how you would expect to use a sauna facility at an all inclusive hotel . The pool area is very disappointing. We did not use the pool a single time because it is not appealing , appears dingy and odd layout . Even the photo of the pool on trip advisor is not the same - the pool is a much darker murky colour . I will add some photos to show the difference. The service was very hit and miss . Some members of staff were lovely and others were rude , dismissive and hesitant to help. Simple requests were dismissed such as asking for a cappuccino (not possible - coffee only filter from the machine , not alternative milk coffees can be requested ). I asked for breads and dips once and was told the chef was angry becuase this was off the menu - something you would normally get given for free at any local restaurant. At one of the restaurants for dinner we were asked to leave a tip at our meal , which is something we noticed other guests were being asked to do. Kept handing us a bill even though it’s all inclusive - just to push for a tip. The food - not 5* food at all. Food in the main buffet was very cheap quality , with minimal variety especially on fresh proteins/meats. Desserts were especially disappointing, and mostly consisted of processed pre made coloured qnd flavoured desserts. These were repeated and even served in the other restaurants on different nights . The breakfast was the best buffet meal however again you cannot order anything to request such an omelette. These Italian restaurant was also nice and we did enjoy the food there - pizzas and pastas which were nice quality and authentic. Drinks were mostly served in plastic disposable cups , I asked once for a pina colada at the beach and was served a processed juice drink from a machine as was told it’s too expensive for the hotel to make it as proper cocktail. This hotel appears to be a franchised, which made it feel like every penny was being squeezed out of the guests . The quality of food and drinks was low and not sure how it passes for 5*. Requesting simple things was challenging and you were made to feel awkward at times. Would not recommend - you would probably get more value for money from a locally run 3* hotel.
