The peace and quiet of the Tramuntana mountains, the spectacular views and sunset on the Bistro terrace, are just a sample of a great place for a romantic break. The spa has everything you might like or wish for; the restaurant is sensibly priced and offers a wide range of quality dishes, both local and international. A great place to start your hiking route or cycling route. Ask the owners about their trekking recommendations, they know their stuff! We loved everything about the location and having such friendly staff was the icing on the cake!

The sea view from our terrace was amazing , the refurbished room was a delight, the Spa was both relaxing and spacious, not to mention the outdoor terraces where a lazy afternoon was spent with a cold beer and a good book. We had a lovely weekend at Maristel. The sea view from our terrace was amazing , the refurbished room was a delight, the Spa was both relaxing and spacious, not to mention the outdoor terraces where a lazy afternoon was spent with a cold beer and a good book. Yet there was more, the restaurant! Not a hotel dining room, rather a quality restaurant with a varied menu to please everybody. A great place to use as a base to enjoy the surrounding area for walks, trekking and cycling.

This is a low-key but comfortable four-star hotel that offers all conveniencies while you kick back and enjoy some time away from the hustling and bustling of city life. Its home, Estellencs, is a tiny village (approx 300 residents) which is surrounded by stunningly beautiful mountains, and faces the ocean to the west. Yes, that means amazing sunsets at dinner time. The quiet life of this small community comes almost as a chock for the cosmopolitan traveller. It took us a few moments after our arrival to realize we were holding our breaths, and exhale. We chose to only include breakfast in our hotel package, but lunches and dinners are also available. Breakfast was satisfying and tasty, with commonplace choices such as eggs and bacon, freshly baked bread, and an assortment of yoghurts and fresh fruit, mixed up with nice additions of local specialties such as local cheeses, olives and pastries. The hotel is equipped with an outdoor pool and sun deck. Convenient, if you don't want to swim in the ocean, and if you actually want to stretch out in the sun. The small beach, situated a 15-minute walk away, is mostly pebbles and seaweed. Of course, this doesn't stop the locals from enjoying a relaxing seaside afternoon on weekends. For rainy days, the hotel has a spa that has a Turkish bath, a dry sauna, a tranquil indoor pool and lounge chairs. The hotel staff were very friendly and showed an effort to keep us happy. Also, for the first time in a long time I had a feeling of being genuinely welcome as a guest by strangers. This place is hard to reach and hard to leave. If you, like us, have the need to get as far away as possible from a stressful environment, but still want to be comfortable and snug, this is the place for you. (Disclaimer.
