“Staff make you feel welcome and go above and beyond to assist”

A lovely genuine smile on arrival and Reception definitely went above and beyond to assist with mobility difficulties. All the Staff that we met at this hotel always had a nice friendly smile when they saw us.

Firstly, what bliss to have air conditioning in our room in this heatwave. VERY expensive though. Booked last minute as a relative mortally ill in Basildon Hospital, but £167 for one night REALLY?? Back to the air conditioning, woke sweating at 11.23pm The bloody air conditioning had STOPPED. Put it back on & it stayed on. Room clean & very comfortable. Now the lukewarm receptionists. We don't know if they are new to the job ( corporate reception being my profession) but they gave us complete duff information about the Beefeater Restaurant next door, telling us at 3.45pm, that the next sitting wouldn't be available until 5.30pm. We were exhausted, after not sleeping much & spending the day with our sick relative. We went to the room & unpacked & thought we would chance it in the restaurant. IT WAS RELATIVELY EMPTY!! We were by told the nice lad that was serving us that they get that ALL the time. Then he asked us if we were having breakfast too? He said that the receptionists don't tell guests that they need to book a slot, resulting in them being turned away, as full. Our meal of Haddock & Chips, was most welcome & was washed down with a much needed 2 glasses of Pinot & a Coke for my Husband. I confronted the receptionist who gave us the wrong information & lack of information. She threw the other receptionist sitting next to her 'under the bus' saying it was her! I made it clear it 'her' that told us the duff information. SHE WAS BRAZEN FACED LYING TO US.

The hotel is in a good spot for the airport and the rooms are clean . The food however is not good . The hotel is linked the the Beefeater next door. The breakfast was undercooked and cold. The restaurant closes its kitchen at 9pm and its bar soon after so no dinner for us the night before either. … Повече

The hotel is in a good spot for the airport and the rooms are clean . The food however is not good . The hotel is linked the the Beefeater next door. The breakfast was undercooked and cold. The restaurant closes its kitchen at 9pm and its bar soon after so no dinner for us the night before either. The lady who I assume is manger is moody and rude. She may have had a long day but we all work long days and look forward to our breaks it would have been nice to be delivered the news we couldn’t have dinner in a nicer way.
