“Friendly hotel at a quiet place”

Smaal hotel, clean cosy rooms, very good restaurant, with local kitchen. A wine tasting is included in some arrangments: very special, never to forget. The site is very calm. Parking is very easy, at the other side of the street.

Hotel Gräffs Mühle in Traben Trarbach Wildbadstrasse 217, 1 hour drive from Trier, from our room we could see the car park opposite the street, our room was divided in 2 spaces, the sleeping area and the space were you could read a book or watch tv, they give a good breakfast with fruitjuices, tea, herbal tea, coffee, marmalade, honey, egg (boiled, fried, scrambled), ham, cheese, salami etc, cereals, dried fruits ( abricot, prunes, dades, figs), selection of bread, we enjoyed a four course and 5 course meal with winetasting , the hotel provides leaflets about things to see around Traben Trarbach and we had 2 vouchers to go to the nearby moseltherme( swimming). The hotel has no elevator and if you are in the restaurant of the hotel you have to go downstaits if you need a toilet.

A very nice and kind hotel. Altough we were the youngest couple in the hotel, we felt welcome. They served a very tastefull diner, combined with a fantastic house wine. Stayed for 2 nights and got excellent value for money. The free parking is on a plot of land right across the hotel. Free wifi seemed to be a bit of a problem with the other guests, so I decided to use the roaming services of my own provider. Older public, no kids in the hotel. There are no coffee or tea making facilities in the room, but a bottle of sparkling water is provided for free. I would suggest to bring your own towels and bathing products along, as those in the bathroom were of a rather poor quality. Both Traben and Trarbach offer a good selection of restaurants, but this includes a distance of at least 2.2 up to 3.5 km from the hotel. There is a public car park alongside the bank of the river Mosel in Trarbach. As an alternative, the hotel offers a simple and honest menu for their guests. There is the possibility in the hotel to buy a selection of wines from local producers. Mind, the owners do not accept credit cards such as Visa upon settling the bill when checking out. Overall a good experience though the hotel's interior is completely outdated and a gradual renovation should be considered on a very serious note. On the other hand, the room was very clean, the staff was helpful and the fair rates of the rooms and the restaurant soften the lack of comfort to a certain extend.
