“The staff and food service were excellent,”

I am pleased to share that one of my groups from Italy stayed at Tourmaline Hotel for 2 nights on 3rd February. The staff and food service were excellent, and the guests were very satisfied with their stay.

Nice hotel on the top of hill. The room was very spacious and sufficiently clean. The view from the room was also nice. The staff was polite and welcoming. We had buffet breakfast and it was good in terms of variety and service, also tried dinner on one of the days and it was good too. They have a small pool, I wouldn't rate it too high, but not bad, as mentioned by other traveler, seems they rent it to school in the afternoon, we did see bus of children on one of the afternoons. Didn't matter to us as we had gone out anyway. Overall our experience was good.

“Lovely staff members, great view and comfortable room”

You will receive a very warm and friendly reception at this hotel. Our room was a good size with a fabulous view. The bathroom needs updating but otherwise the room was comfortable. You will receive a very warm and friendly reception at this hotel. Our room was a good size with a fabulous view. The bathroom needs updating but otherwise the room was comfortable. The restaurant was very quiet and felt a bit awkward and the food was ok. Just beware not to go outside if the car park at night as my husband went out for some fresh air and was chased by an aggressive dog! I would stay here again.

“Lovely 1970s style, in need of refresh”

We've just returned from 2 weeks in Sri Lanka and this was the only hotel we were disappointed with. Built in the 1970s it is a great design and we liked the retro style, but it did feel in need of updating. The bed was large & comfortable, the view from the window delightful. The ensuite was outdated & shabby however, with a shower over a bath that wasn't fixed properly so falling off the wall and a plastic shower curtain. Taps & sink in need of replacing. The restaurant was also uninviting, although good views, it just needed a little more style. Buffet food was very mediocre and at breakfast all the bread & pastries were dry. Nothing badly wrong, but not great either. The bBlack forest Gateaux was a nod back to the 1970s I guess!! The pool is across the car park & up some steps as it's shared with their sister hotel "Topaz". Nice pool with good views, toilets/changing rooms again shabby & outdated.
