“Great Family Experience”

We recently stayed at Ohotel Villa Romana on a half board basis and had a fantastic holiday. The breakfast every morning was excellent, especially the fried eggs, omelettes and pastries which we looked forward to every day. We never had lunch in the restaurant itself, but we did eat daily from the food bar and honestly it was some of the nicest food we had during the whole holiday. Dinner also had a great variety of continental options and we especially enjoyed the pasta, pizza and chicken dishes. The hotel’s location is perfect too — literally only a 5 minute walk from the main area of Salou which made everything really convenient. A special shout out to Illius at the front desk who welcomed us when we arrived. He was so lovely and friendly and made us feel at home straight away. We also want to give a huge shout out to the Animation Team for keeping the kids entertained day and night throughout the holiday, especially Angel. He was absolutely brilliant with the children and honestly made the holiday extra special for them. If he wasn’t there, the kids definitely wouldn’t have had as much fun. He brought so much energy every day and we would happily return to the hotel again, especially because of how amazing he was with the kids. Overall we had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend this hotel to families looking for great food, a good location and fantastic entertainment for children.

“Lovely break”

Returned yesterday from this hotel . A last minute bargain break with Jet2Holidays . Arrived at the hotel before 11am . After a 10 minute transfer from Reus airport- great experience here. Assisted travelwas brilliant on arrival and then coming home yesterday. Check in was quick and efficient our Room 4138 was ready so we were able to go straight to our room . The guy who checked us in was fab he also organised a mobility scooter for my husband it was there within an hour . Our room was modern clean and spacious. Only downside was whatever we did it was rather warm . Pool area lovely and we always got a sunbed . The restaurant was big and always busy quite frequently there were lots of tables that needed cleaning. The food was good I always found something to eat . Downside was the restaurant staff most looked unhappy and weren't veery friendly. The entertainment team worked very hard and drinks in the hotel were a reasonable price another downside were the bar staff they were slow and had little enthusiasm. A short walk into Salou our favourite bars /restaurants were . The Blue Dog, The Grapevine and Oriental Chinese. Overall a lovely holiday and I would return to this hotel .

“April stay”

Stayed at the Vil la Romana from April 25th to 30th, Room 4224, overall very good, only downside was i left a pair of shorts in the room on departure, and despite ringing the reception number several times and emailing the hotel I have not had a reply

Stayed here over October half term not expecting the hotel to be too busy as it was end of season and the hotel was due to close the following week. We found the hotel to be just as busy as July/ August stays - they had made a great effort with the Halloween decorations. The restaurant area is huge and was extremely busy, we were a group of 14 and never sat all together except once when we moved a table and the waitress came over going mad! The restaurant staff were extremely rude and we encountered issues every time we went in - The man on the door ticking your name off again extremely rude and not friendly at all. My sister in law slipped on water that was coming in from the ceiling and fell on the floor - not one member of staff came to her to see if she was ok - i had to go over to tell staff and they just looked at me ??? The food choices are fantastic and we had no complaints about the food at all - something for everyone and a huge selection. Had a problem with one of the cleaners in the reception area who shouted at my husband when she saw him looking if the pool area was open then he walked on a floor she had mopped she went crazy ! To the point that I went to reception and the lovely man on reception could only apologize and said he witnessed it and it was not acceptable - I asked him why were staff so angry and miserable - he said language barrier perhaps ?? Never in all the hotels we have stayed at had to complain about staff rudeness - I personally think we were the last week of the year and the staff had just had enough ! Location - fab location for the theme parks prob about a 10 / 15 min walk and then the same again down to the beach front . Pool area - lovely big pool area which we did get to use . Rooms - lovely modern rooms. Would I stay again ?? Yes but next time just ignore the rude staff !!!
