“La Cabana is top notch”

La Cabana is the best ever. All the staff is friendly, rooms are clean , food is great , bars are super. Service is top notch. They are keeping the whole resort updated and next year they are redoing the main pool. Dont worry , they have a childs pool and an adult pool as well as hot tubs!

To the GM of La Cabana Beach Resort. We did not stayed at this resort, we stayed at the one next door Eagle Aruba. However on Thursday 3/20/24 i woke up at 5:30 am to grab a beach tiki cabana. I went back and forth throughout the day , i know they give you and hour and a half to go but there is no control of that. In one of those instances around 1 pm my beach tiki was taken. Evidently a rude lady and her husband had taken all my belongings from the beach tiki and had placed them in a chair. When I asked her and her husband they blamed security, they said security moved my items and that they didnt touch anything. I went to look for security and I encourer a chair person by the name of Gustavo from Colombia, he was very nice and explained the protocol to me, he said that when security take items they place them in a locker, he then went to look for the security guard Richard. Richard was also very nice, he explained to me the protocol and he confirmed that he did not move my items because security will never leave items in a chair. He said they normally do an inventory of the items they place and put them in a locker. I was so upset that the lady had lied blaming security. This confirmed she moved my items. I asked Richard to please go tell her the protocol and he did, she should NOT be touching belongings from other people yet along moving them. From a distance I can hear the rude lady with no manners yelling at him. She kept saying she was not moving. The lady was very rude to him. Gustavo was also near by and he heard the lady. Later on I ran into Richard again and I told him I appreciated all his help. To the GM of La Cabana Beach Resort, I wanted to show my gratitude to Richard and Gustavo for both for providing outstanding customer service. I was so upset my items were touched and they were very nice to explain the protocol. I am very sorry that rude lady yelled at Richard, he handled the situation very well. At the end he was just telling her the protocol. Thanks to Richard for all you did that day and for making my day a better one.

A lot of reviews regarding this Resort are from Timeshare owners who have a vested interest in over-hyping this place and conveniently leaving out important info. I don't have such an interest..... I stayed at this Resort for a week and here's my input. Pro: -The staff truly are professional, from the front desk to the pool bar to the activities staff. They've obviously received good training. I had a hair raising occurrence(high pitched noise) at 9am on my first morning..I'm not a morning person. I immediately barked at the front desk and 2 min later the dude showed up with toilet pump replacement part in hand which took him all of 3 min to swap out..issue did not recur and for that I was truly grateful. - This part of Eagle beach is nice but it's rather average compared to other places I've stayed in both Eagle and Palm Beach. There's no rock jetty's where fish tend to hang out so forget about snorkeling right off the beach. - The breakfast in the coffee shop was actually pretty good. Pancakes and omelettes were fine. - The parking situation was fine if you do rent a car. Con: - The units are really outdated and it shows. Everything was spotless but there were many things that really bothered me..The safe, which is from 1965, is in the closet and basically a foot off the floor(why I can't tell you). Having to bend over to access it multiple times a day was an inconvenience typical of my stay at this resort. And speaking of inconvenient, you had to get out of bed to turn off the light as the master switch was at the entrance to the room..Really? They did have lights on the headboard but like the overhead light, the on/off switch was by the door...So ridiculous and outdated. Not fun walking with your hands out in the dark so as to get back into bed. The TV is from like 1972..Bottom line is that instead of renovating the common area outside(they did recently build a new adult pool which was okay) they should hire both a design firm & a process efficiency expert to redo everything(Lights, safe, closet, shelves). I'd be happy to fill that roll as if anyone knows what needs to be done in those units it's me. - Access to Palapas and pool side umbrellas/tables. This is an issue anywhere on the beach in Aruba..this I'm aware of. However it was way worse of an experience at this place during my week. People would queue up at like 4-5 am and frantically scamper to grab a shade providing spot..at both the beach and by the pool. Additionally as most of the guests had cliques that they've met up with for over 20 years, they would grab spots for each other. Totally not fair. The average age during my stay was like 70 so they're not up all hours of the night partying away and thus feel it's their right to grab those spots at 5am. It was really stressful having to deal with that on a daily basis. For god's sake, I was on vacation. And once someone threw their stuff down they'd take off and return whenever they cared to. There is a security detail that checks for this but these people have been going there for like 30 years so they know how to beat the system. The dearth of places to sit was so bad at the pool bar in the afternoon that I ate more than one lunch standing up. Ridiculous! The situation on the beach was so bad(there were no Palapas after 8am) that there was an umbrella biz going on by the waters edge where for $30 every day, they'd throw down an umbrella for you. How ridiculous is that? And even that availability was uncertain as they sold out on occasion. So damn stressful and the Resort is well aware of this issue but choose not to resolve it. I ate at their flagship restaurant Las Ramblas one night and it was fine..overpriced like most places in Aruba but at least I got a seat..lol Net net, I won't be returning to this Resort as the morning scramble for a shady spot, when needed, was just too stressful. Maybe you'll have better luck than me.
