“They need to do more about the mosquitos”

We chose this place because it has a great central location and at €40 is great value. We had a nice sized room with an even bigger bathroom, although I can’t recall the room number is was a double at the back with an enclosed balcony overlooking Calle de la Merced. We didn’t find it particularly noisy but what we did have a problem with here was the mosquitos. We arrived here really late due to a delayed flight and collapsed into bed without checking the room, the next morning we both had loads of bites and spent the beginning of our holiday spotty and scratching, not a great start or look! It isn’t really a place you would necessarily expect to find lots of mosquitos so we hadn’t taken any precautions ourselves and where we were tired and it was dark we hadn’t noticed any either. They really need to do more here to prevent mosquitos as it spoilt the beginning of our stay. Also the next day when you go around the room killing them all it leaves a mess on the walls which is also really horrible. You get given 3 keys here that you keep, one for the front door, one for reception and one for your room, there is a lift, and staff actually live here so you don’t have to wait for someone to come from elsewhere to let you in and there is WIFI in every room. We would stay here again but will bring a big bottle of DEET next time!
