Wonderful hotel, would highly recommend when staying in Madrid. The hotel is lovely, very clean, modern, with the best staff. From check-in right through to check-out the staff couldn't be faulted. The room was large, clean with a very comfortable bed, a safe, large TV and large bathroom with walk-in shower. As it was our anniversary, the staff left a lovely note for us, some sweets and arrived to our room with a bottle of cava in ice and two glasses - lovely touch. The breakfast was very good, all the continental options, plus eggs to order. The hotel also has a unique food and drink bar which is free to guests - sandwiches, salads, yogurts, snacks, peanuts etc., and free beer, wine, hot drinks too. Brilliant service which saw the guests sitting around chatting in the evenings. My husband used the gym - treadmill, weights - good size room it's not the centre of the city but its walking distance to two metro lines, and a bus right out side the door. There are two metro lines nearby, one 8 mins (Line 7 @Barrio de la concepcion), the other 15 mins walk (Line 5 @ Cuidad lineal) - the second one is a good line for most of the tourist sights. We got an uber to and from the airport which took 15 mins.

So Artiem is one of those concepts that you want to work, and when it actually does, you are both surprised and thrilled. Not only do Artiem want to run a far more eco-friendly hospitality unit, but they want their guests to join in their mission but also enjoy a far more satisfying stay. The bad things:- almost none to mention, genuinely...the only two things are that the underground car park is an awful design and truly difficult to get in and out of spaces, even in a relatively small car like a Mercedes A-Class, but the front desk team did warn us of this. And the price is not "cheap" but then for the price you pay, you are in a major capital city and have access to all the good things I will mention below, so for me it was very good value indeed The good things:- basically everything!! 1) their efforts to be more environmentally friendly in every possible way 2) the fact they have a car park in a central city location and it's FREE! 3) the front office staff welcome was amazing and so helpful, one of the best front office teams I've ever encountered 4) the free food and drink available 24 hours a day in the ground floor area is good quality and a revelation as it includes alcoholic beverages too - a really nice touch for middle of the day when you've been busy sightseeing or if the weather is bad outside or if you simply want a snack while you read a book in the lounge area 5) the breakfast had a really nice selection of food and it was mostly fresh and tasty and there were some really interesting and tasty options 6) there is a nice selection of rooms - we went for XL (406) and it was spacious, quiet, modern and had a good bathroom and a comfy bed, what else do you need?! 7) good transport links around Madrid are just a few minutes walk away to the nearest metro station, or there are bus routes too Overall, this is a far better city hotel concept than many others I've encountered and while many may see this as a 2-3* hotel in terms of fixtures and style, the service and atmosphere and overall experience is definitely that of a superior 4* hotel and I would recommend this to anyone visiting Madrid on business or leisure.

4-day trip to Madrid. Initially, I had reservations about the location and the time required to reach my meeting destination, but the hotel exceeded my expectations. After a long day of meetings, relaxing in the grab-and-go area and enjoying the evening was the highlight. I successfully completed my work in a pleasant atmosphere. I highly recommend this place and will return if I find myself in Madrid again!

This hotel is located in one of the quiet neighbourhoods but there is a bus that takes you to the city center. Hotel has complimentary hot/cold drinks and snacks that are available to guests most part of the day. Room is decent, staffs are generally friendly. The location is not quite so convenient for us because our purpose was to shop and experience the bustling city of Madrid. But for travellers that drive or prefer to stay in a quiet place away from crowds, this hotel may be a good choice.
