Charming and grand old building, cool and airy. Very central and excellent base for exploring Lucena. Bedrooms large and comfortable and the beds (two doubles in our double room!) were brilliant. Really helpful and friendly staff - found us secure storage for our mountain bikes no problem, and also lent us an iPhone charger overnight (I’d accidentally left mine at a previous stop on the Via Verde). Good breakfast and a good range of options including some fresh fruit and nice croissants.

“OUTSTANDING! HARD TO FIND FAULT ”

Stayed here as part of Camino de Santiago. Most people see Lucena as an ugly conglomeration of sprawling industrial estates. What they --and I -- until this visit -- don't know is the centre of Lucena, where this hotel is, offers a delightful old town with a castle and churches and old buildings. Among the old buildings is the hotel, dating from the 16th century, located in what was a convent. Main feature is a stunning patio now covered where guests can enjoy a meal or just relax. Room: beautifully traditional and simple, immaculately presented with top quality modern bathroom. No noise from street below thanks to quality glass. Food: avoid the over white dining room. Eat in the gorgeous patio. Food quality well beyond that usually found in a provincial hotel. Imaginative and innovative courses on the 13€ menu del dia, with several touches of Japanese cuisine (seaweed in the salad; yakitori sauce on fish). Staff: without exception, charming,friendly and efficient. Wifi: 100% efficient throughout Value for Money:a room is €62. Well worth it, as is the €13 menu del dia. Drinks and coffees are very fair and below what one would usually find in a 4* hotel. It is a bit of a social hub in Lucena. I live about 1h15m away -- I am planning to come back. Fair to warn about parking. I was on foot but central Lucena is not car friendly.The hotel has some deal with a hoist lift car park close by. Best to check.

“Parking the issue hotel nice ”

If you got a big car park away from hotel other then that picturesque hotel in the old pretty part of town nice warm rooms the staff are very friendly and know how to look after customers which is good to see

At first glance the room was incredible with a massive kingsize bed, but on closer inspection it soon became clear that the hotel was not very well maintained the shower attachment was dirty and hanging off the wall, and infact the room was quite jaded and the bathroom floor was very dirty. We stayed 3 nights and in the end after 2 day it was obvious that it was not going to improve I cleaned the bathroom floor myself with wet wipes. The bar and Restaurant were closed and there was no food in the hotel at all. The reception staff were friendly enough and the Wi-fi worked ok. The parking was round the back of the hotel via a lift for the cars and space is very limited.
